About Teens Make Money Online

Before the Internet age was introduced, the average teen and college student looking for a job had few choices such as babysitting, life guarding, caddying and the normal (not to mention boring) employment opportunities that are available to the youth. These opportunities, while still available today, represent only a small portion of the options that are available to teenagers today. The Internet has opened up an entirely new world, filled with opportunity, promise, and ways for teens to make money online. If done correctly, teens can make thousands of dollars each month on the Internet. On this blog I will show you, most likely a teen, how to make hundreds of dollars in your first month of taking paid online surveys. Scroll down or check out the blog archive to the right to get started!

Top 3 ways to start earning today!

1.) CASHCRATE (100% Free) - Check out my most recent $200.13 Cashcrate check if you haven't already. It is from January 2012. I usually make between $300-$400 a month with this program and it is entirely free to join. You only have to be 13 years old to join, so this is a great way to earn some extra money as a teen. By far the best and easiest way to start making money today. Cashcrate is an extremely reputable website and they have over 1 million members! The best thing about them is that you never need to use a credit card for anything. I signed up in June 2008 and to this day I have yet to use one, however I am still making hundreds of dollars, each month! I HIGHLY recommend Cashcrate over any other PTC website.

2.) SWAGBUCKS (100% Free) - One of my newest favorite sites I use to make money online as a teen. This site is very user friendly and is basically like "Yahoo" or any other search engine, but allows you to make money by simply using it. They also offer surveys, games, and other ways to make money through them. Most survey sites can become boring after a while but SwagBucks has so many different possibilities to earn as much money, probably more, as you can with most jobs you can find as a teenager. With over 5 million users, and in the top 100 for most visited websites in the United States, SwagBucks is an amazing opportunity to make a lot of money online.

Search & Win

3.) SQUISHY CASH (100% Free) - Similar to Cashcrate. You complete free surveys and are paid a commission. Perfect for teens looking to make some cash on their spare time.

Different Ways for Teens to Make Money Online

While online survey sites remain the best way for teens to make money online, there are many other options to keep in mind during your ventures. Here is a list of 5 other possibilities that you can use to get started on today.

1.) EBAY - There are thousands of dollars to be made on Ebay if you put the time in. An account is free and you can begin selling your items today. In fact, over the past month or so I have been selling old video games, clothes and other various items laying around my room and have already accumulated $870. It really is a great opportunity which is why many adults make their living by selling things via Ebay. Just make sure that you are a reliable seller and be ready to communicate with the buyers about your items.

2.) Blogging - Have a hobby or interest? Write about it. For example, I have several friends that run a big gaming blog and pull in thousands of dollars a month via Adsense. At first, they got few visitors , but as they continued to write quality content more readers began to show up. By simply writing about something that they enjoyed, they were able to start up a relatively cheap blog and now make upwards of $5000 a month. By posting google adsense ads on the blog, visitors click on the ads and they are paid a commission for each click.

3.) Mechanical Turk - Until recently I had no idea what Mturk was. However, after checking it out and using it for a couple weeks I have been pleasantly surprised. Simply put, Mechanical Turk is a service offered by amazon.com that allows you complete small tasks for a compensation. For example, you may be shown a picture and told to describe it in 10 words for $0.10. Now this may not seem like a lot but after doing it for a while you can make a steady income. Also, there are much higher payouts like writing a 1000 word article for someone for $15. There is a good amount of money to be made on Mturk if you put the time in.

4.) Write an E-book - A simple and fun way to make money is to write an e-book and sell it online. Consider yourself an expert on something? Put your thoughts down on paper and you will be surprised at the amount of people interested in what you have to say. E-books can be about anything, so don't think that just because your a teen people won't want to read what you have to say. When your finished you can offer your book to people on forums, Facebook, etc. and charge a price that you think is reasonable.

5.) Youtube - Youtube is an amazing way to earn great money online. Creating an account is completely free and like blogging, you can place adsense ads on your videos. Thousands of videos on Youtube have millions of views, so just imagine the profit that can be made. If you create a channel and upload funny, unique, informative, interesting videos you can quickly grow your view count on your videos and be well on your way to earning great money. However, just know that just because you make a video, that doesn't mean that people will watch it. It has to be engaging and make sure to leave the viewer wanting more so they will come back and eventually tell others about your channel.

Combine what works for you

Now you don't just have to try one of these methods. If you combine a couple of them you can be on your way to earning good money online as a teen. Begin testing what works for you and what yields you the highest profit and stick with that. Good luck everyone! Thanks for reading.

The Importance of Saving your Money as a Teenager

How important is it to save your money? As a teenager I think it can be pretty difficult to save your money when there are so many things out there that you would rather purchase. Putting your money aside or into a bank account sounds a lot more uninteresting than purchasing the newest video game. Besides how many of you regret buying most of the things you do? I know I do and it happens to me all the time. The solution to this dilemma is saving your money. Say I earn $400 a month (whether it be from a job, or from online) I would try to save at least half of it. That way if I were to save $200 a month for a year I would have $2400!! Imagine having that much money, you could buy yourself something a lot cooler than a xbox 360 game or you could even begin investing it (the smart option)!

Here are a few ways that you can begin your saving:

  1. Save before spending. Whenever some money gets into your hands, take your savings out immediately, before spending any of it. The beauty of this system is that once you've removed your savings, you're free to spend the rest on whatever you would like.
  2. Negotiate with your parents. This may or may not work for you, but it is definitely worth a shot. See if they'll "match" your savings, in order to encourage good saving habits. If they match your savings dollar-for-dollar, for example, that would mean that for every $50 you add into savings, they'd add an additional $50. I know that if I had kids that wanted to begin saving their money I would be all for helping them get started.
  3. Consider the "opportunity cost" of all of your purchases. This is possibly the most important step. Opportunity cost is an economic term that applies to many parts of our lives. It is defined as the loss of potential gain from other alternatives when one alternative is chosen. Imagine that you can either buy a new video game for $50 or you can invest the money. If you invest for 10 years, and your investment grows by an average of 11% per year, your original $50 will become $142. So you can ask yourself this question: "Would I rather have this game now, or $142 in 10 years?" $142 may not seem like a lot but if you were to invest more of your money you could have much more cash down the road.

Here are some additional tips:

-Carry as little money around with you as possible (this way you will not be tempted to spend it on unnecessary items).
-Get a savings account with a good interest rate and deposit most of your money in there. That way your money is working for you and if you ever have the need to take some of it out then you have to take an extra step to get to it.
-Discipline yourself to purchase things you only truly need.
-Save your change! ( I put all of my change into a glass jar and cash them in once in awhile. You will be surprised at how much you can earn without even trying).
-Set rules for spending your money. Say you only want to spend $30 a month...spend that much and put the rest into the bank.

If you follow some of these steps you will be well on your way to saving your money as a teenager. It can be hard at times but it will be well worth it in the end. Good luck everyone!

Is Cashcrate a scam?

Lately I have been hearing a lot of people online calling the website Cashcrate a scam. And no matter how hard I try to convince them otherwise they still seem to think that it is a waste of time. Waste of time? I have been making money like this each and every month over the past 2 years....
$517.83

One of the main reasons that people think that CashCrate is a scam is that for some reason people think that they are just giving out money for free. Trust me, the money they give out isn't free, you are working for it just like any other job. Nothing in life is free and I love the people that think surveys sites just give out "free money".

The direct deposit statement I posted above is money straight from CashCrate that goes directly into my bank account every week. Now that money certainly isn't "free" and I had to work pretty hard to get that kind of money. Now in order to get started you need to create a unique blog/website like I have stated so many times in previous posts. As a teen I know it can seem pretty intimidating to go out and purchase your own url, but don't worry. There are many free blogging platforms that are extremely easy to set up and use. Make sure that your blog is unique and has well written content. There are thousands of websites out there promoting CashCrate so you have to make sure that yours sticks out from the crowd.

All in all, Cashcrate certainly is not a scam. It is a real company that has real members like me. They have paid out over 4 million dollars since they started back in 2006. I have received thousands of real dollars from them over the past 2 years. Now 99% of you reading this will probably sign up, maybe complete an offer and call it quits. Be that 1%!!! If you actually read the previous content I have written and stick to my advice you will be well on your way to earning money online as a teen.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Teens Use SwagBucks To Make Money Online

Hey everyone,

Christmas is fast approaching us all and as a teen I know how difficult it can be to afford presents for all of your loved ones. Putting together enough cash to afford some nice presents can be tough and usually forces you to return cans, or hunt for loose change throughout your house. Instead of doing that why don't you play games and search for things on a search engine for money? Sounds cool right?

I recently came across a survey site called SwagBucks. Now if there was a king of survey sites, SwagBucks would be it. As of November 2011 it was one of the top 100 websites visited annually in the United States. With over 4 million members it boasts an amazing reputation and definitely caught my eye. I went straight ahead and signed up for it. Wow am I glad I did. Swagbucks isn't just a survey site, it is a search engine, you can watch videos, play games, trade in old electronics, and more, all for points called Swagbucks. But, by far the coolest feature I found on the site was that you could earn money by simply searching. Instead of using google, I use the SwagBucks search engine and have earned about $40.....by searching for everyday things, its basically free money.

With these Swagbucks you can trade them in for a wide variety of prizes, including everything from GPS systems to memorabilia to gift cards to actual cash via PayPal.

Overall, I really have enjoyed my experience with SwagBucks thus far. I already earned a $50 Amazon gift card and am well on my way towards another one. It is definitely going to help me during the holiday season this year and I am glad I found out about it. I suggest you at least check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
